How To Be Sexier And Smarter At The Same Time

Knowledge is one of the most attractive things we can have.

Sometimes knowledge comes in the form of what we know, other times in the form of things we can do and skills we have.

We live in a world where it’s become more necessary than ever to have eclectic knowledge and diverse skillsets.

Men are running out of ways to feel special

It’s not enough that we make money or have status, because women today already have these things.

We have to work a little harder to be interesting

We cannot afford NOT to be a Renaissance man or woman with a variety of skillsets, art forms and knowledge bases.

Knowledge and skill is a good look on anyone – as is curiosity which inevitably leads us to these things.

And attraction is sustained for longer periods of time when you’re able to keep surprising your partner.

Challenge:

Go and learn about or study something that you have no real need for. Just do something new.

When you’ve decided, leave a comment about the thing you’ve picked. Then come back and leave another at the end of the week to let me know how you’ve gotten on! Do you feel more interesting? Do you have a story because of it?

Be sure to let me know as you’ll be giving me ideas for what I can go on to do next myself!

  • hi matt :)
first Iam glad that you brought this subject ,, surprisingly my plan this summer was to expand my knowledge about many things and I’m encouraging my friends to do so and exchanging the things we learn
im proud to say that Iam developing my french language ,learning to speak italian , learning new cook recipes , learning few things about psychology and self development, many history subjects about my country and the arab world
just want to say good job keep it up :)

  • Great message. Funny because just yesterday I was invited to a meeting where community leaders are forming an organization that focuses on giving hispanic children tools, training and opportunities to grow up and become leaders. I was amazed at the amount of concern there is to invest time on the younger generations. I am an artist and I was invited to join them so that they can offer leadership through the arts. This seems great… This is way out of my comfort zone but I think it will be a great opportunity of growth for all the people involved. :)

  • I just moved to a big city from a small town and got a wonderful job. Its been really growing on me to try something new. There are so many more opportunities in the big city than there were in my hometown that I know I’ll never get to everything I want to do, but I can at least do some of it. Thanks for reminding me that high value men like women who have knowledge and are doing something with their life.

  • Thank you for this inspiring video – absolutely amazing!!!
I’m going to learn how to dance Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” this week, I’m sooo excited :)

    1. It is so fun to dance to. At one time I lived in a house with 10 other single ladies, and we had so much and many laughs while learning it!
      Enjoy!!

  • Well… I’m headed to Canada in a week to study on exchange. I’ll be taking a neuropsychology course which I’m very excited about. They also offer a social psych class which will probably be about Canadian society. I’m excited about that too. And I’m excited to be studying in a different country anyway. Lots of new ideas and aspects heading my way.

Oh and I fucking love you Matt! You are the shit!!

  • good topic

I always watch the videos but today is my first post :)

I did this and I always go to do something that has nothing to do with my study or life .

I tried to learn FRENCH , SPANISH , ITALIAN , and I only know 10% from each but it’s really interesting .

last year there was an event in my college , AND IT was related to the Italian culture and langue , I singed to this event just for fun but one thing come to another I liked it , and it helped me to corporate with the people who are there, I enjoyed it and learned some new words too , it was a chance that I had to do something that I wont do it very often , also I take SALSA dancing classes for now .

    I don’t know what is next ?!

I have a QUESTION : when will you come to DUBAI ?

    hope to see you soon

Matt you’re such an inspiring person thank you

  • I am going to learn how ski by moving to Aspen, Co. and working for a ski company out there. Come teach a weekend seminar there, Matt! I’ll teach you how to ski. :)

  • First I must say Matt you are amazing I’ve been watching your vids for sometime now and I am now in a relationship it’s fairly new only been a month or so. But I think this is great advice. I decided I’m gonna learn how to play the guitar and perform at open mics ! I used to sing a lot as a kid and I feel like I should get back into it ! :) thanks Matt

  • Hey Matt,
Your blogs always tie in to something going on in my life that week, and it is very strange who connected we seem to be- same mind-wave length. This week I have been thinking that I am always the one that people come to for advice and information about dating and relationships but the irony lies in the fact that I have yet to have one. 28 and amazing as I may be- I am getting out there and trying new things  the bucket lists won’t get done without it! This has been a year of change, and the growth and change will continue. So far, I have ridden a motorcycle and LOVED it! Taken a hot air balloon ride, flown a plane, and raced in Go Karts (all of which I have never done before). Traveling is something I want to continue- Ireland hit the travel bug for me, but since I am stuck stateside for the time being my exploration of the states may continue. I am also constantly researching, always into something new and interesting- so your challenge will cause me to look into something new, though this font of random knowledge tends to increase by the month- active things I have yet to master. I am adding finding a kung-fu or martial arts class to attend, and learning to cook rather than bake. The bucket list continues each month, taking some off and putting more on. A girls got to have options- and that isn’t my only list of course ;)

Thanks for rockin it out, and if you ever hit SC I challenge you to a GoKart race.

  • Like a some other people I’ve been learning a language. I picked up French again this summer and I’ve gotten better. I can understand about every other word now. I met some French speakers a few weeks ago and I could honestly tell them that I spoke a little French. They seemed to like that :)

I think I’ll try taking a golf lesson next for fun. I’ve decided that instead of putting a lot more anxiety on myself to do things just for the purpose of meeting someone, I’ll do things I like. That way even if I’m anxious it will be while I’m enjoying myself.

  • That’s funny; I just watched a video about North Korea yesterday before hearing you speak Asian! Never thought people there are so sweet and happy in spite of their communist regime and secretiveness. Yeas, knowledge could be a saver for all mankind as it brings peace and understanding.
Most definitely, knowledge can spice up our relationship with men. Sometimes it scares me how much we want to know; everything is just so interesting, fascinating-human is a mystery, world is a wonder!
I love knowledgeable men. This is something that attracts me more than anything. Your videos are so inspiring, Matthew, thank you!
By the way, I’ve learned about the Tudor dynasty recently and British history—fascinating! What a marvelous country!
Also, I found this amazing video:

aahhh we surely need to look at things from a way bigger perspective! :)

  • Hi Matthew,

I was talking with a friend to day and learned that he has dyslexia. I have since gone on to read more about it and how a person with this disorder thinks differently from those of us who read typically. It is a very interesting disorder as they perceive written language much differently. I am enjoying reading and learning of Dyslexia. We also talked of painting and experimenting with color and I spent the afternoon with my acrylics out and putting paint to canvas. It was a great way to relax and also evoke my creativity. It was a pleasant coincidence that you I watched this video today.

Thanks for the presentation as well as the challenge!!

    -Cassandra

  • This rings true as I’ve gone back to school and also back to my passion for reading. I’m finding myself a more interesting person to spend time with just me myself and I.

Another observation from learning new stuff- my curiosity is more aroused by the more knowledge I ascertain. Funny how that works.

  • Hiyas,
I was wondering if you maybe had a few tips on starting anew in a new enviornment. Ill be a freshman in college (out of state and a looong way from home) this fall and I am so scared *nibbles nails* D: My main source of anxiety would have to be like meeting new people and relationships…its a way different scene than high school, I know that. Anything that you think I could do to ready myself for that culture shock :0 any help would be appreciated.

    Thank You :)

    1. HI Arria,

I work at a university with college students and not too long ago, was a student myself. I understand why you may be nervous about going to college far from home. My advice: Go in whole heartedly. The more nerves, the less likely you will be to engage. The university where you will be going to school, I can only imagine, will have a ton of freshman activities so you get to meet all types of new people, most in your same shoes. Remember, every freshman is in your same position, they are new.
And as Matt says, you have knowledge about your home state and many people you are going to school with, may not know much about where you come from and that’s a great talking point!
Enjoy every minute and have fun! Oh, and study, too!

  • Amazing as always Mr. Hussey! Your enthusiasm and zest for life are so inspiring and always come across on your videos. I always look forward and love watching your videos and reading your posts. I first learned of you after I happened to see “Ready for Love” and that led me to your best selling book. Incredible! It is almost as if you wrote it just for me –only wish you had written it years ago!lol I have read other “self help” books on this topic but they have all been so abstract and never have had any actual specifics/details as to actions to take. You cleared up so many of my misconceptions about what men think, etc. Your book has been the first that really cut to the chase and laid out in plain English steps to take and what to do and not to do. So refreshing! It has changed my entire way of looking at things and has renewed my desire to live and find love. You have renewed my sense of excitement in the future and I plan on applying to attend one of your high value woman events in the future.
That being said, in response to this video, recently I came across a number of books on Egyptian archaeology while cleaning out my parents house after my father’s passing. I find that I have a real interest and fascination in reading about the Valley for the Kings including the tombs of King Tutankhamun and Ramesses and Eygyptian history in general. This has opened up a whole new area of interest that I never had before and, with it,has made me feel more connected to my father who always had a love of history. I somehow feel that I am honoring him by sharing an interest in what he loved.

  • I studied the Myers/Briggs personality traits to improve my communication skills by identifying and adapting to the style of my audience. I am also learning how to fly RC helicopters…start on your PC because the hobbie is expensive when you have to replace parts from crashes. It requires coordination with both hands and uses both sides of your brain!

  • Hi Matt,

I’ve always valued growth and wanted to expand my knowledge but never felt I had the time to do it. Thank you for the kick in the pants!

One thing I always wanted to learn is Mandarin. Curious to know what you were saying in the end. I speak Cantonese but I have a co-worker who speaks Mandarin so I can practice on her, so I think I will try to do this.

My geography of the world also needs to improve.

I could also learn to cook one dish a week.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

    Judy

  • I love, LOVE, LOVE these videos! You seriously have no idea! I adore you! You are teaching us all something so important about relationships and life.
