Learn More About My New Book, Love Life

She Calls Me Out On National TV, But Watch What Happens Next

Last year I found myself on camera for a TV show – on one of the biggest stages I’d ever been on – in front of a live studio audience…

This clip is going to ‘inoculate’ you for life and have you ready should anyone ever try to embarrass you in front of others.

As a compliment to this video, get the guide that everyone’s been going crazy about…

  • So interesting that you showed this, when I bought this show on Amazon THIS is the part I rewound and took notes on because I thought it had such great skills to be learned from. You’re inside of my mind. It’s great your thinking outside of the box, because dating and relationships is not an isolated subject, it should be a holistic approach. Because after all it’s a lifestyle not just an event. Kudos on your forward thinking!
    Big Hugs,

  • I really loved idea of going through videos like this. Being on the receiving end of criticism , often unfair, quite frequently and i rarely know how to handle it without getting all flustered and angry about it, so this is a real lesson for me . A big thumbs up for the video and hope to see more videos of this sort , it really helps in improving all areas as opposed to just in love relationships .

  • I do think it’s useful to focus on such topics and since many GTG ‘followers’ are young they may not have come across this before. But I think it’s fair to clarify that this and the Steve stuff are not your ‘secret techniques’ – it’s been written about and practised in the postive psychology field since the 1950s. That said, another reason perhaps good to get into these areas is that relationships with men are part of one’s wider life and since areas like friendship and work blend into each other the same goes for relationships, so any help with enhancing skills is probably a good thing.

  • Hey Matt :) Since I have a lot of thughts abut this new form of coaching, what Stephen did, and a few more things, I was planning on writing a much longer comment or a message, but maybe in the future. Just for now: great content, very practical & useful, if it were possible, I would love to hear more analysis on the subject (e.g. in this case she perfectly proved that you were right about her, but sometimes people we iteract with “shoot blindly”, often without any logic in it and are simply rude and want to make a fuss around themselves; I woulv love to see what you would recommend in this kind of situations).
P.S. Miss Jameson and the bloopers :)
Have a great day and thanks for the video.

  • Thanks Matthew,

I think this is such an amazing idea! I have a male work colleague who repeatedly calls me out or puts me down when there are a lot of other people present! At times I have felt quite upset by this and haven’t really known who to deal with it so thank you again! This will be a really helpful guide for the future :) x

  • Hands up…. clapping!

Matt, you already know how much i love you and your content. All i can add to this is: We want more! :D

    Have a happy Sunday,

  • You’re absolutely right. When you react to people and their negative emotions, you give them power over you. I believe you handled the situation flawlessly.

However, if I may make one observation… as you watch yourself on the video, I noticed that you are extremely hard on yourself. Almost too critical.

I realize that the point of the video was to demonstrate to the audience how to handle a response if faced with a similar situation. But in doing so, you judged yourself.

My point of this comment is to let you know, you are imperfectly perfect. Your reaction is humanistic and as much as I admire your desire to improve and hone your skills, please do not ever lose that genuineness you possess.

    Gwendolyn :)

  • Matt, I LOVE you. You’re so grounded. I’ve been reading your emails and getting videos for a month now, and this week I did something that was COMPLETELY influenced by you. I didn’t even know what I was doing it until I looked at it in retrospect and thought, “I got that from Matthew Hussey, and look what that just did for me!” I am paying so much closer attention now!!

    1. So the answer is YES, more of this! Or just do what you do! You’re not just a love coach; you’re a LIFE coach!

    2. Awesome Bethany – I’ll pass the great feedback to Matt (though I know he reads all the comments himself so I’m sure he’ll see it!).

  • Matt, the play by play style and visual analysis of the the relationship dynamics are incredibly helpful. Thank you so much!!

Ladies, it’s also interesting to note that Taryn employs the same tactics Matt is trying to teach us! Notice how she didn’t try to defend herself, waited patiently for him to finish, and turned the comment on her character back around towards Matt. I think the problem here is she is too passionate, and showed vulnerability from being so emotionally invested in what she was saying. It seems the main thing that caused her to stumble was her lack of preparation. Perhaps if she had anticipated constructive criticism on her interaction with Ben, she might not have responded so maliciously.

Once again, thank you Matt for this new approach!! I definitely appreciate this “Get the Control/Get the Goal” a little more than “Get the Guy!” ;)

  • Absolutely love this content and I’m not ashamed to say that I loved the terrible reality show. Thanks for breaking your inner workings down…raw transparency is leading – edge.

  • This is very very empowering, love the way your videos show the growth of you and how you have learnt so much just in life’s strange scenarios. Knowledge is power…. sharing knowledge is empowerment! Thanks so much x
