This Secret Makes Work Feel Like Paradise

Today I’m coming to you from Bora Bora.

I’ve not taken a holiday in a while, and so thought now that I am, I’d better do it right!

(Sorry the audio is a little choppy in places – that’s what I get for not bringing Jameson along with me!)

  • Matt,

I love your video’s on how to change your life, I like your style and your wisdoms and techniques. It always cheers me up. I’d like to see more life coaching video’s, maybe even a book if the time’s right!

    Love,

    Eliza.

  • I said this to you on Retreat, and I’ll say it again: I am immensely grateful for the time you spent (and still spend) learning all the psychology, human dynamics etc that you now share with us. Every time I watch one of your videos is a huge breath of fresh air.

By the way – it was less than two years ago that I first came across your videos online and went on the women’s weekend (the “Hussey’s Angels” one…) I’m just about to move in with my partner. Check out the high value on this ;P

But here’s the thing – you’ll never guess how I met him! All being well, I’ll be at the June 14 event in London, so I can tell you about it. I think you’re missing a pretty cool trick ;)

  • Hi Matt,

Love all your videos and I think these videos about changing or improving your life are a great addition to your other coaching videos. Please continue making these life changing videos in addition to the ones about dating, etc. I’m dealing with the recovery of a burn-out for the past few months and it’s been you and all your online programs that have helped me through these difficult times. I look forward to your weekly videos and every time I feel down and can use some coaching I just watch one of your videos of your programs! You always manage to put a smile on my face. :) And that’s just a bonus for me, cause I’ve also learned so much about dating thanks to you, after being in a relationship for years and having to go back on the singles market again. Thanks for doing what you do and please never stop! Hopefully, I can attend your five day retreat program one day…

    Enjoy your well-deserved holiday!

  • I thought I was only one who “double booked” in high school and university.

I still read with a pen/pencil or highlighter even when just for fun. I made it a game, now that I can actually write in books (it used to freak me out – a friend of mine actually made a comic strip about it, but I disgress).

It’s true that anything – and I do mean anything – can become work or a chore if you see it that way.

Thank you for the reminder and enjoy the rest of your vacation.

  • It was such a coincidence. This morning I had been mediating on the word ‘boring’ ‘repetition’ ‘routines’ and ‘discipline’. The problem is we often see things that we ‘repeat’ as uninteresting. They often do not naturally motivate us.

So to keep ourselves encouraged we need to practise everyday thinking of things which encourage us, this will ensure that we stay in alignment. We also need to play. Micheal was bored of reading so he allowed himself the space to read anything he felt inspired by. This acted as a primer for other ideas to be generated.

If you exercise everyday I would suggest, changing the focus of your routine. If you go to a gym see how many people you can get talking to. If you run in a park make noticing nature a focus.

I loved the Bora Bora video because it so genuinely depicts a potential problem that plights us all. Therefore, we all need to ‘explore’ regularly to keep our flame burning.

  • Hello Matt,

The videos are great! Love the ones on coaching, and the ones on improving your life. I am a singer & MC from Bucharest, Romania, and have loved your work from the start! Being in the entertainment industry is not always easy, but i found a way of incorporating your advices in everything i do! At work but even in my personal life! And even though i knew most of the things you teach us, it was more inspiring when seeing you speak them. I’m glad you exist, i think what you do and why you do it, is awsome, and hey, glad the internet brings your work closer to me/ us, your fans! i’ve been telling all of my friends about you, cuz once again, i think what you do is just a blesing! Looking forward to seeing you in this beautiful part of Europe, my town, Bucharest – Romania!
    A big fan, bla bla

  • The water is soooo blue!!!! I mean, yes I get it… gotta shake it up a bit sometimes, remember why you loved it in the first place :)

  • No matter what your content, it’s always relevant always useful always thought-provoking! Keep it coming Matt thank you!

I too also learned to put the pen and highlighter down and yes, it made reading enjoyable again.

    My next holiday… Bora-Bora :-)

  • Your dead on…I was just dealing with the same situation, in my quiet time.

Be refreshed and may all that your given in your external world, help you to see your internal world much clearer.

    Be blessed,

  • Makes me want to visit Bora Bora. The scenery is very nice and the mountains and water are not bad, either. :-)

  • P.S. YES, keep doing the videos. So much more comes through than with the blog. It’s the passionate communication that sells the point. Face to face, eye contact, smile, enthusiasm. It’s all great!

  • Watching the beautiful ocean on your back made me feel like being on a holiday myself, so, great! :)

I also really enjoyed the content very much.
I love your dating advices, but this other level is also sooo important…
So thank you and have a safe back trip home!

  • I love it when you expand into general life issues. Please keep them coming!

I totally relate to what you said about reading becoming a chore. I taught university–level English Lit courses because I loved books and reading, but eventually got to a point where I couldn’t read anything without a pen in my hand, thinking “how can I work this into a lecture?” It was a blessing in disguise when I was laid off, as I got to experience reading for pleasure again. (And hey, I wouldn’t have found your book in my old life!).

  • Yes! I find these kinds of videos you make to be extremely motivating and insightful. Please share more as they come about!

  • Love the video, very useful and wise information! Thank you! And you look very good with the tan! :)

  • Aloha Matt, Thanks for your insights on expanding self development. Bora Boring…try the Big Island of Hawaii next holiday! Have you ever seen an active volcano? I promise you will have experiences like never before, which will result in producing an inspirational video that you, Jameson, and all would enjoy!!!!

  • I always enjoy you sharing your videos with great info.
I have been to Bora bora and loved it. A fabulous getaway.
