Wait Or Create – The Animated Short

You might already know that I love the C.S. Lewis quote, “This moment contains all moments”. To me it  quite elegantly sums up one of my core beliefs about dating: there are infinite possibilities you just have to get out there and make them happen. A reader sent me this video and it was so sweet I decided to share it with you. Next time you are going back and forth between waiting or creating, remember the man in this video. Enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments below.

  • Saw this video last week and was doubting if I should tweet this to you or not. But I guess you found it already. Love this story, it’s so adorable and a true example of creating your own moments.

  • I absolutely love everything about this video. I had tears through out the second half of it…. very sweet idea

  • How funny I was trying to figure out a way to get this to you. Glad to see you found it. I think this is my favorite short by far:)

  • This really makes me think of…well me. There’s been many times in my life where I just wanted to say To Hell With It but those little planes just kept pushing me back. I have to admit I’m really grateful for those planes:)

  • LOVE IT!!! You know, there is a guy that I am seriously interested in getting to know. We work together and I have been inviting him to a few outings with other coworkers and even to the movies by ourselves, he always seems to be interested in joining me or us, but never did. Well last night I decided to go out with some coworkes/friends and didn’t invite him, until the very last minute that we were already at the location and when I messaged him, I said it was ok that he was still in training and that we wouldn’t say anything to anyone at work about him being there. He responded saying that he was already meeting a friend at that location and would see us there. He joined us for about an hour and then left to sit with his friends. It was trivia night at the location we were at and we were playing, and shortly after he left to sit with his friends he stated sending me text messages with the answers, and then he asked if it was ok that he joined us because he did not want to get in trouble at work. I reassured him that all the coworkers that were there did not mind or care that he was still in training, so he joined us again after a few minutes. I could tell he started to relax a little and then even joined us for drinks at a nearby pub afterwards. It was so much fun! This video reminds me of it, because nothing was planned for us to actually hang out but rather it all just worked out on it’s own. I never thought about his training being an issue prior to last night.

  • I saw it a week ago and still touch me every time I see it , the story and the music, make you feel everything.

  • I loved this film. Things like this make me think my Darcy must be somewhere out there and I just have to look for him but sometimes I feel so helpless.

Matthew, I have a little question, I like this guy and he might be the one. but he is a workaholic and doesn’t really mingle with the crowd much. he is a wallflower if you know what i mean. he used to be my senior in college and we have a few mutual friends but now I dont get to see him or talk to him, he is just on my facebook and I miss him. I want to be able to talk to him and take things forward. What do you think is the best way to approach him without making it look like im dying for him.

Love love love you for helping us out

    1. how about asking your mutual friends to have an outing all together..for fun, nothing special.. and once you are all out u can try to have so much fun they will all want to have another outing. then you can pull matthew’s techniques on your guy ;) hopes this inspires you – wish you good luck :)

  • Enjoyed watching the film. You have to make the most of your opportunities. Try not to let an opportunity slip by.

THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF PEOPLE:
THE LUCKY ONES AND THE UNLUCKY ONES.
THE UNLUCKY ONES ARE THE ONES WHO ASK ‘WHY?’
THE LUCKY ONES JUST ASK ‘WHY NOT?’

AND WHILST THE UNLUCKY ONES SIT BACK,
WATCH THE WORLD PASS THEM BY AND
BECOME SPECTATORS OF THEIR OWN LIVES.
THE LUCKY ONES KISS LIFE EVERYDAY
KNOWING IT WILL KISS THEM BACK IN RETURN.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LUCK
BECAUSE YOU CAN CREATE YOUR OWN LUCK WITH
THE RIGHT ATTITUDE AND THE RIGHT STATE OF MIND.
SO TAKE A CHANCE, LIVE A LITTLE AND SEE
    WHERE THE NIGHT TAKES YOU.
