Men aren’t always known for being the most easy creatures to read. Especially in the first few months of dating.
But there are certain body language signs of falling in love that are uniquely different compared to when a guy is on-the-fence about you. At the very least, these will tell you if he feels a strong emotional connection, rather than just a passing interest.
Here are 5 simple signs to look for that tell you where you stand:
1. He makes A LOT of eye contact during sex
Men tend to express a lot about their emotions through sex, so it makes sense that male body language is very telling when you’re both between the sheets.
A man who is in lust will just focus on the physical act. A man who’s falling in love will do a lot of intense kissing, face stroking, and yes…eye contact. Strong, intense eye contact in the midst of passion. It’s his way of showing he feels a connection and means he feels close to you.
2. He loves your whole body
So, as we just established: guys express a lot about themselves through sex. And you’ll also get an idea by how passionate he is in general when he’s trying to please you.
Guys who are falling in love tend to want to show you that through extended kissing, touching, and through exploring and loving your whole body. If he seems to worship every inch of you, it probably means he feels more than just lust in that moment.
3. He wants to show others you’re his
Ok, so hand-holding and kissing in public are definite signs a guy is interested, but let’s be honest, some guys will happily do that on a first or second date even if they only want something casual.
Much more important is how romantic he allows himself to be in front of other people he’s close to. If he wants to squeeze you tight to him in front of his family, or is constantly holding your hand when you’re out with his friends, this is body language that says he’s really into you.
He’ll also want you there at big social events. When he can’t wait to walk in the room with you at his side, that’s classic male body language that says, “I want to show the room she’s with me”, and it means you’re a big priority.
4. He’s eager to make you feel comfortable
When a guy is desperate to make you his, he’ll go out of his way to make sure you’re feeling good as often as possible.
Re-arranging his couch pillows, making his bed, asking if you want a snack or a drink, or buying something that will make you feel more comfortable…if a guy seems to fussing over you and wants you to feel totally at home, this is classic body language of love.
5. He’ll want to give you long hugs
Even if they don’t admit it, most men love cuddling. But they only really like doing it with women they are falling for.
When he hugs you close for a long time in bed, kisses your forehead repeatedly, and maybe even cuddles you on the escalator or out on the street, this is one of the crucial male body language signs of attraction. Take it from us, just being physically interested isn’t enough for a guy to enjoy long, romantic embraces.
If he’s pulling you close and tight to him regularly, it’s his heart’s way of telling you he cares.
